Pricing
JasperNode, the edge runtime, is free. You can download it, run it on your own hardware, and it will control your plant with no cloud connection and no licence fee. That does not change.
JasperX is the cloud platform: the browser IDE, fleet overview, program revisions, alarms, remote access, and the AI that builds automation programs with you. That is what you pay for.
Three things to know before the table:

Paid plans have no per-seat pricing. Pro and Premium include unlimited users. The Free plan is a single-user plan; the moment a second person needs access, that is what Pro is for.

Connect unlimited nodes on every plan, including Free. Your hardware is your hardware. We do not meter it.

What you are really buying is AI capacity. Each plan includes Jaspers (AI agent seats that build programs) and a weekly AI usage allowance that resets automatically, the same model you know from Claude or ChatGPT.

What is a Jasper?
A Jasper is an AI agent seat owned by your organisation and assigned to one program. It is the AI that actually authors: it creates and edits tags, scripts, and connectors, explains what it changed, and stages deployments for your approval. One program, one Jasper.
A Jasper is a seat, not a credit. Nothing is consumed and nothing expires. When a program is finished, unassign its Jasper; after a 7-day cooldown the seat is free to assign to your next program. The seat count only matters for how many programs you have in active AI development at the same time. An integrator delivering one job after another can run indefinitely on a small number of seats.
Ask-mode is different. It is the read-only AI that answers questions, explains logic, and helps diagnose faults. Every plan includes it, for every user, including viewers.
How the weekly AI allowance works
Every plan includes a set amount of AI usage per week. Light work (questions, explanations, small edits) uses a little. Heavy work (building a program from scratch, large refactors) uses more. Your usage meter is always visible in the platform, and the allowance resets weekly. If you run out mid-job, buy a credit pack or upgrade; nothing is lost, and your programs and nodes keep running regardless.
We publish the allowance mechanics in the documentation rather than hiding them in fine print, alongside measured costs of building real programs. The numbers will be tuned as we learn real usage patterns. Existing subscribers will be notified before any reduction takes effect.
Virtual nodes
A virtual node is a stock JasperNode runtime hosted in the cloud, with no field hardware: build and test a program before the panel exists, run simulations, or develop against recorded values. Define as many virtual nodes as you like; your plan sets how many can be running at the same time. Idle virtual nodes go to sleep automatically and free the slot. Waking one takes seconds.
Remote access
When a node is online, you can reach the web services it hosts (the HMI, for example) straight from your browser, tunnelled through JasperX. No VPN, no port forwarding, no inbound firewall rules, nothing exposed on the plant network. The node makes a single outbound connection; everything rides on that.
Access requires a logged-in JasperX user with permission on that node, and every session is recorded in the audit trail: who connected, to which node, and when. Your plan sets how many remote sessions your organisation can have open at the same time. A fair-use bandwidth allowance applies; ordinary HMI use will never come near it, and we will talk to you before anything is throttled.
What we never charge for
Some things are safety concerns, not commercial ones. These are included on every plan, including Free, and will not move behind a paywall:
- The deploy gate. Human approval of AI-driven changes before they reach the field.
- The audit trail. Every change recorded: who, when, how, and which AI.
- Program revisions and rollback.
- The JasperNode runtime itself, including its ability to run the plant with no cloud connection.
If a feature exists to keep people and equipment safe, you get it. We make our money on AI capacity and convenience, not on safety.
Sharing between organisations
You can share a project or program with another organisation, for example a system integrator sharing with a client, at owner, editor, or viewer level. Sharing works on every plan, including Free, in both directions. Sharing grants access, not entitlements: the other organisation brings its own plan and its own Jaspers. Their AI usage draws on their allowance, not yours.
FAQ
- Do my Jaspers reset or refresh each month?
- No. A Jasper is a seat, not a credit. Your three Pro seats are the same three seats every month; assign, unassign, and reassign them as projects come and go. The thing that resets is the weekly AI allowance.
- I was a beta user. What happened to my credits?
- They carried over, as promised during the beta, and your organisation is on founding-subscriber pricing.
- Is there a trial of Pro?
- The Free plan is not a trial. It is fully functional, does not expire, and connects unlimited real nodes. The meaningful limits are one user, AI capacity, one virtual node slot, and one remote session. If you want to evaluate Pro-level AI capacity or bring a colleague in before committing, contact us and we will sort out a trial period.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Your nodes keep running. JasperNode does not need the cloud to control the plant, and we will never brick a runtime over a subscription. Your organisation drops to the Free plan and its limits. Programs, revisions, and audit history are retained. If your organisation has more than one user, you will be asked to nominate which account remains active.
- Do prices include GST?
- Plan and credit prices are shown ex GST. GST is added at checkout for Australian customers and itemised on your tax invoice. JasperMate hardware, sold separately, is displayed GST-inclusive as required for consumer pricing.
- Why per organisation and not per user?
- Because charging per seat punishes you for giving your client a viewer login, and we want your clients in the platform. The cost that scales for us is AI compute, so that is what the plans meter.
- Can I buy extra Jaspers on the Free plan?
- No. Extra Jaspers and extra virtual node slots are available on paid plans only.
- Where is my data hosted?
- Australia (Google Cloud, Sydney region). Program data, tag history, and audit logs are stored in Australia; some traffic may transit Google-managed infrastructure in other regions (see the security policy).
- Will prices change?
- Probably, as the product grows. Two commitments: existing subscribers get 60 days' notice of any price change, and founding subscribers keep their signup price for at least 24 months.
Credit packs
Starter ($200), Growth ($450) and Bulk ($1,200) packs via Stripe. Purchased credits don't expire during beta and carry over when plans launch.
